I have a small independent contracting business on the side. I don’t have regular employees just a few people that work with me from time to time on odd jobs. Is there free software online that I could download to produce paystubs for the money that I paid them without spending a whole lot of money? Like I said this is just my business on the side so I don’t feel the need to invest in expensive software for 3 small jobs a year.

Everyone seems to be using QUICKBOOKS. I have heard good & bad things about it. If I do get Quickbooks, which version should I get? I own a small insurance agency.
If I go the Quickbooks route, what product is best? Quickbooks Pro, Simple Start, etc…? I would guess my accounting needs are minimal. I just need to track payroll, expenses, etc. No inventory or invoices…

I’m start my own webstore from my home..I’m looking for the simpliest, most accurate, user friendly and most inexpensive accounting software possible…I have Windows XP Home Edition.

Note: I may choose to incorporate and I hate accounting. I’m hoping this will be really easy like the tax software they have out there now. Thanks for any feedback- even if you can say what didn’t work for you.
oh- and I’m in CANADA. Thanks
It’s a consulting business- no inventory of goods, mainly writing off tax stuff and things like that

I am being promoted to assistant manager at a resturaunt, but i want to have a competitive advantage over my fellow supervisors, so I was wondering is there a website or software tool that can help me be more financial savy? Books would be nice . peace

I am trying to get a small business organized and am having a very hard time finding affordable accounting software, does anyone have any recommendations on this?

In your opinion, what is the best OPEN SOURCE accounting software and why?

We started a business & now my accounting is done with a pencil.
I own Quicken for my personal stuff.
These are my biz needs; can I accomplish them in Quicken?
I am managing, say, 10 properties at a time, using one bank account.
Mr. Jones gave me $10,000 to fix 123 Elm St.
Mr. Smith gave me $18,000 to fix 456 Maple Ave
Mr. Jackson gave me $24,500 to fix 789 Main St
I have hired Steve to do Phase 1 of the Elm St project. Mr. Jones has allotted $4,000 for Phase 1, and Steve is charging me $3,000 for the labor.
Now, Mr. Smith has given me $18,000 for the entire Maple Avenue project, and Mr. Jones still needs to give me another $6,000 for his Elm Street project.
I don’t want to accidentally use Mr. Smith’s $ for Mr. Jone’s project.
I don’t want to open a new bank acct for each project.
How can I see, at a glance, within one bank account, how much money that I have is allotted to each project????

I’m planning to have my own small business selling beauty products online (not EBAY, I will have my own website). I won’t have any employee and it’s a home business (for now). I need a software that will keep track of my sales and expenses. Which software do you recommend? Thanks!

I have just formed a limited company and require advice on which software will help me prepare end of year accounts and tax filing with the revenue’s online service and wages expenses etc.
